What can your baby do this month?
Your baby is now half a year old! This could be very exciting. From this month onwards you could start your baby on formula milk or solid food.
You will see a change in the growth of your baby, especially the height. However our baby’s head will still be large in proportion to the body. The motor skills of your baby this month will also show a change. The baby will sit up on his or her own without any support. He or she will use the hands as aid to get up.
Your baby will also roll back and forth on the tummy without any trouble. This is the early sign of crawling. He or she will use both hands alike to feel, grab and throw objects.
The little one will also show communication development. Babies this age will have a perception of words with meaning. That means when the baby sees the mother he or she will say am-ma and the father tha-tha. Your baby will also show comfortableness when with family members and certain uneasiness when in the company with strangers.
Your baby will be able to stand and support the weight for a short while. However your baby will not stand on his or her own yet. The baby will also be able to sit up own his or her own.
There will be signs of teeth too in this month.

Play games like peek a boo with the little one. These activities will help the baby to understand certain facts such as even though they can’t see something they are not entirely gone.
Also keep a close look on the baby’s milestones and if the little one is reaching them not very late. If you sense that something is amiss contact your doctor for help.
Encourage every little movement of your baby. Leave his or her toys a little away so that he or she will have to bend a little to reach for it.
