Baby’s Developments
Your baby will measure about 15 inches and will weigh around 2.4 pounds. Your baby’s lungs will be fully developed by the end of this week, allowing for a larger chance of survival if born during this time. The most amount of weight in your baby will be gained during this period.
Changes in the Mother
You will continue to feel aches and pains, and even face difficulty breathing due to baby pushing against your diaphragm It will become quite difficult to sleep as your belly is now bigger and you might want to urinate during the middle of the night. You will feel tightening in your abdomen area which is known as contractions, these will only last a few minutes and is called Braxton Hicks contractions. Your doctor will run routine tests this week, most commonly testing for glucose.
Tips for This Week
It will become difficult to sleep in the coming weeks so you might want to keep an extra pillow to support your back and to keep one between your legs.
Travelling too becomes difficult, so keep in mind to plan ahead before travelling by making frequent stops and stretching your legs out to avoid any blood clots.
