Now that you and your partner have decided to welcome a new member to your family there are many things to think about and prepare to. But how do you know exactly is you have conceived? This article will help you identify certain signs/symptoms that you may witness after conceiving.
The first trimester is where the transformations start and even though they are invisible the changes takes place pretty fast. The hormones in your body will begin activities of nourishing the fetus that is growing inside of you.
However these changes will be very alien and sometimes hard to adapt to so it will help to know some of them to go ahead with the pregnancy with more confidence.
You will witness physical changes starting from the first week of conceiving. Let’s take a look at some of these factors.
Nauseous feelings:
This can begin in early weeks of conception. Even though it is mostly known as ‘morning sickness’, it could come at any time of the day or even night. This happens as a result of crazy reactions of estrogen and progesterone in the body. These substances tend to rise causing the stomach to empty more slowly and then causing nauseous feelings.
Another characteristic that makes pregnant females nauseous is the heightened sense of smell. They are sensitive to various scents which enable them to perceive food products, perfumes and even cigarettes. These different ranges of smell could be unpleasing to most females.
It is important to consult your doctor if your morning sickness gets sever and unbearable because it is not always normal to get too much of the ailment. The signs of severe morning sickness is passing out dark colored urine or passing urine in small amounts, you feel like urinating every time you drink some fluids, feelings of dizziness and faintish when you stand or if you vomit blood.
However if you are having normal attacks you can try the following to relieve yourself of it.
- Eat in small quantities and have meals about five times a day
- Consume low fat food that will digest easily
- Increase the daily take in of fluids (mostly fruit juice that will help you and give enough nutrients to the growing fetus)
- Drink ginger ale (however not always)
- Try and avoid strong smells
Urination:
Well yes, this is going to change too. When you have conceived you will start to urinate more frequently. This will happen anytime, even at night. Some mothers who spoke to BabySpace said that sometimes the bodily fluids pass out without them even realizing it. This is a result of enlargement in your uterus that makes you urinate whenever you sneeze, cough or even laugh. However there are ways to prevent this to an extent. It’ll help to drink fewer fluids before going to sleep and also urinate whenever you get the urge to. If you are still worried that you will urinate in the wrong time try panty liners.
Light Spotting:
When you conceive you will witness spotting. Spotting is different than your menstrual period. It takes place before menstruation is due and you will bleed in pinkish or brownish, light fluids that are a result of implantation.
Cravings for food:
When you are pregnant the one thing that will always be in your mind is food. Some mothers said that they even started craving on food that they never liked but that is ok. This is heightened with the newly increased ability to smell food. Cravings occur when hormonal changes take place inside the body. It is also important to fulfill these desires too.
Tender Breasts:
Your breast may start to get tender and appear swollen which is due to the hormonal changes that are taking place just after conception. In another hand they might get fuller or heavier too. This is to prepare it to produce milk. Try wearing a more comfortable bra with better supportiveness.
Emotions:
With these changes your emotions will start to vary too. These feelings could vary from feeling very happy, anxious, exhausted and even excited. Then these swings will come all at once leaving you flushed and frustrated.
This could be a result of the new life that is ahead of you such as being a mother, thinking about the baby’s future, his or health and even the relationship with your spouse. Even the job that you’ve been doing will add to the nagging. Some mothers even cry when they experience these mood swings.
The BabySpace recommends you to talk to your spouse or a loved one about these feelings and don’t feel stressed as what you are feeling is normal. If you can’t cope with the mood swings even with the help of your circle then consult a doctor where you will receive ideas of how to reduce or deal with them.
Feeling of fatigue:
When you are feeling fatigue during pregnancy you will fall asleep soon. This is caused by soaring of the levels of progesterone hormone. The other factors that will combine to make you feel fatigue is low levels of sugar in blood, low blood pressure and even increased blood production. It is important that a female takes plenty of sleep during pregnancy and also get all the nutrients that are needed to keep her healthy and at the same time the fetus growing. Also adding some physical activities to the day to day life will also help fight fatigue.
Constipation:
It is said that during pregnancy the food that you consume will get into the stomach much slower than average and in addition to that the stomach will take more time to empty causing constipation. To prevent this it is important to eat in small quantities and several meals per day giving the digestive system time to process. Also it is best to avoid oily food and fried food, citrus, spicy food and carbonated drinks. Also try including more fiber rich food and fruit juices combined with simple but effective bodily activities.
