Baby’s Developments
At this stage, the foetus starts to swallow a little bit of the amniotic fluid that is there to cushion it each day. This puts the taste buds to use as well. But still, almost all of the nourishment comes from the placenta. Furthermore the bone marrow of the foetus starts producing red blood cells. Up to now it was only the liver and spleen that did so but the spleen stops by around the 30th week and the liver a few weeks before birth, leaving the bone marrow as the sole source of blood cells. The eyebrows and eyelids of the foetus are present now.
Changes in the Mother
Now that you have a very noticeable tummy, the reality of your pregnancy would start to sink in. You may start getting feelings of panic and uneasiness. Don’t let these go out of control. The most important thing is communication between you and your husband. No doubt he would be feeling a little anxious himself. Try also talking to a female close to you who has experience with children such as your mother, grandmother, sister or friend. Keep calm and have faith and belief in yourself.
Physically, you may feel an increase in acne due to increased production of oil in your glands. Cleanse your face regularly with mild soap and do not break the pimples.
