What can your baby do this month?
Your ten month old baby is almost a little person now who would be interacting with those around him and communicate in a much understandable means, cruising around the house without a helping hand and even playing on his or her own. You’ll pretty much be amazed of how your baby had changed during the previous months.
Even during this month your baby will keep growing. He or she will go about the house crawling, squat, sit back and even get up from the sitting position. The ten month old will also venture about the house with your help or by supporting him or herself from the furniture.
Your baby’s eye hand coordination would be quite improved now. The baby will be able to hold a toy in one hand and use the other to do something else. At this age the little one will experiment on putting small objects on top of larger ones.
The most interesting thing about this month is to see how your baby learns from those around him or her, especially you. Your baby will imitate your every move. These moves could be how you fold the clothes or laugh. The baby of this month will show great interest in emotions. You will see all your emotions reflected in your baby even though the baby can’t still understand what is really happening.
Your baby will know his or her name by now and respond to it whenever the name is said aloud. Also the vocabulary will be developed by now. Simple words like pu-tha (pusa or cat), bawwa (dog) and ba-ba (baby) will be among them.
By now a few teeth could have come out. The baby will still like feeding him or herself and if he has been doing so for the last couple of months feeding times will be less messy.
Sleep pattern during this month would be different too. Your baby will have only a hours sleep during the day time and at night sleep from 8-9 hours.
Tips for parents this month
Communication is vital at this age. If you see that your baby hasn’t begun to speak or is making sounds that does not make sense and not keeping eye contact while you speak or not respond to sounds it is time you meet your doctor because this could mean that your baby is having hearing difficulties.
If communication is going well try engaging the little one in a serious talk, so when the baby makes a sound or say a word try encouraging the baby to say more and show interest in getting to know more. Always try to teach your baby a new word or too. At this age your baby will be able to grasp words so make sure that you help the little one to develop the skill.
Your baby will love to dance and bounce a little. Put on a music that will encourage your baby to do this. Make sure that the music is not too loud as that could damage the little ones ear.
